Rinca is one islands in Komodo National Park. Rinca is approximately 24 km long and 21 km wide and about 211 km². Geologically Rinca is about 49 millions years old, and is inhabited mainly by the people from Flores, Bima of eastern Sumbawa, and Selayar of South Sulawesi.

Soft trekking in Rinca Island

A shorter boat trip from Labuhan Bajo of West Flores, superb landscapes, and the easy-to-find Komodo dragons make Rinca more interesting for the visitors. Hence more and more visitors come to Rinca for Komodo dragons. However Komodo Island does not lose its attractive elements such as the Pink Beach with its great marine garden and of course the dragons, and it is still visited.

Rinca Island offers you three different trails: two hours, three hours, and four to five hours. However should you wish to do more in the Park, the National Park will help you. The track from the Park’s reception of Loh Liang provides some very good opportunities to watch the birds and the butterflies.
